Time to add another Red State

What, you may wonder, is with the map? After all, everybody knows that California and Massachussetts are most definitely not "Red States". Au Contraire, gentler reader. A "Red State" is one where I have ridden a motorcycle. Sometime in the very near future, I'll be adding another Red State to the map. Huzzah. There will be a slight difference this time though.

All the currently colored states have been ridden on my own motorcycles, along with 2 Canadian provinces. Next state will be on somebody else's motorcycle. Using my own just isn't practical at this time...

The Remnant plays Prisoner's Dilemna

Here's some strongly recommended reading, very, very strongly. Am I one of the Remnant? I doubt it ... but I hope that through this simple posting somebody, somewhere will have the seed planted that bears fruit in them.

You are not alone

Tag, I'm it. well, not really, just doing some stream of consciousness writing, er, blogging here. The only problem is my consciousness runs a lot faster than I can type. Bummer

rented Strange Than Fiction yesterday. It was a very good movie, sortof in the mold of Truman Show in that it was about personal transformation. Not nearly as much of a comedy as I'd been led to believe by the previews I'd seen, but a fine movie. I give it a hearty 4 Megatons!

Does anybody else fear that the Democrats are going to get a whole lot of Americans killed? Somehow, they seem determined to bring a little fashion to Teddy Roosevelt's classic statement on foreign policy, Speak softly and carry a big stick. Only problem is, their fashion sense amounts to putting a white scarf on the end of the big stick.

Well, that's all for now.

Finally moseyed over to the "new" Google blogging

blech. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with the new gig, I just hate having to re-register and crap like that. I shoulda wandered through here earlier today, probably would have had something profound and earthshaking to say. Too late, too tired.

Anybody reading, you have a fine day, I'll be back in a few days for some ruminations.

Wow, been a while!

Wow, I didn't realize its been this long since I last blogged. I suppose if I spent less time reading other folks, and more doing my own blogging, then so much time wouldn't pass. Of course, since I find what other people have to say to be more interesting than simply repeating on 'puter what I've already thought, perhaps the time division isn't so surprising. Mind you, I'm not saying that I think what I've got to say isn't interesting, its just that it isn't new to me.

So, what pearls of wisdom have I to share today?

Just this one, which is not of my own crafting...

World War Four?

Is the Hezbollah/Hamas vs. Israel throwdown the beginning of World War Four?
There is a debate beginning to brew regarding the scope and significance of the brouhaha in Lebanon right now. One one side are those who say that this is kicking off WWIV, on the other, those who either deny that this is the beginning, or dispute the contention that our opponents rate such consideration.

Obviously, history will be the best judge, but my take is that both points of view are somewhat valid. This is part of the continuing worldwide struggle against Islamofascism, Israel is simply one of the focal points. So yes, in that sense, it qualifies as World War. On the other hand, its hard to construe the military struggle as anything akin to that of World Wars One and Two, or the Cold War. The only reason this "struggle" continues is that the West hasn't mustered the will to deal decisively with the threat.
